Emergency

It has occurred to me that, despite all of my efforts to promote creativity, there just might be people who think they are not creative. That would be a disaster. Just in case, I devised a list of 13 questions. As I ask them, keep track of how times you answer, "yes." Here we go.

Have you ever laughed at a joke?

Ever dimmed the lights in a room to create an effect?

Ever made up a quick lie to save your skin?

Do you doodle?

Do you remember faces better than names?

Do you sometimes try to persuade with emotional ploys?

Can you sense another person's mood?

Have you ever played a practical joke?

Ever sing in the shower?

Take a walk in the woods for no reason?

Have you ever lost your... (where was I?) ...train of thought?

Ever played with kids and enjoyed it?

Do you ever wish you had become a rock star?

That's it. Easy, wasn't it? You see, these are things that creative people do.

If you answered "yes" to every question, you should be doing something creative for a living. And you probably are. If didn't answer "yes" to any of them... Quick! Grab a toilet plunger in one hand, a feather duster in the other, put a paper bag over your head, run outside, and act like a chicken.

But if you answered "yes" to at least one question, at least you know your right brain works.
