The deep question to ask ourselves is are we ONE or SEPARATE from each other? If we are SEPARATE, we are like those terrorists and our re-actions to their acts can be as violent and brutal as theirs. Even as difficult as this sound right now, I have made my choice to be ONE with the rest of the world and all my thoughts and actions are reflecting WHO I AM. In the still of the night I ponder about what happened a week ago. These last few days, I was part of some enlightening conversations about the current events, a few telephone calls and I received and sent many e-mails to my family and friends mainly in France and the US; I sent too many e-mails for some because their busy life interfered with their time to read all that material – not enough for others avid to communicate and be informed and there were those in denial “please, stop sending me e-mails about this, I can’t take it anymore” and the silent ones…. Did anyone stay indifferent? The World Trade Twin Towers, one of the biggest and most important American landmark has been obliterated from the New-York landscape and the Pentagon, the seat of our government, attacked in an indescribable ignominious manner by eighteen terrorists who hijacked four airplanes filled with civilians which were used as kamikazes human bombs to destroy what the US stands for. The passengers of one airplane took over the terrorists and managed to divert it and crashed themselves in Pittsburgh. The country shook in awe, horror and disbelief. How much can a person or a group of people hate a country so much to have been able to mastermind, execute and commit such an evil venomous nightmarish assault? This most horrible terrorist action of vandalism, aimed to deface our country, caused in less than a few hours the death of at least five thousand innocent people, intense physical and emotional suffering of many thousands of others and each one of us in the US and all around the world felt deeply attacked. What happened a week ago will endure as a painful memory about the worst that human can be in the history of our time. We will never forget that we witnessed another crusaders war at the onset of the twenty-first century. Right now, the entire nation and the world are in suspense about what is going to happen next. A vast majority including our President and our government wants retaliation, They need their ego to be avenged to soothe their pain and regain their pride. What will this achieve but perpetuate innocent deaths, hatred and suffering in an already raw and trembling world? There is no easy answer to this world dilemna. Who can we attack? The Saudi Osama bin Laden, the head of a terrorist web that hides among the Talibans in Afghanistan which keeps the population of that country in an indescribable poverty under a reign of terror,is actually the target. These mad terrorists, highly trained to destroy, hide tike rats there and probably in other countries as well. We know that they can operate autonomously from their central control. They did infiltrate the high security of our nation without any difficulty. THEY WERE HERE, AMONG US, IN OUR AIRPORTS'WAITING ROOM and did THIS make our whole country suspicious to be blame to be aimed at and be destroyed in order to annihilate THEM? You see this time revenge is not the easy answer. What can we do then? Personnaly, I can go deep inside myself and find there the microcosm of all the problems of the world. WHO AM I? Am I ONE or SEPARATE from the rest of the world? If I am ONE, I am all loving and accepting and this is not an easy thing to be particularly after this deadly vindictive assault that shook the entire world. If I am SEPARATE, I am like those terrorists and my re-actions to their madness can be as brutal and violent as theirs. I have made my choice of being ONE and all my thoughts and actions are reflecting WHO I AM.
