Judy Massey
is President of The Boomerang Group,
full-service marketing communications with an emphasis on baby boomers. She
has been a marketing professional for over 20 years, both as a consultant
and in staff positions. Her background includes experience in all aspects of
promotion and marketing, as well as strategic planning, corporate events,
merchandising, copywriting and sports marketing.
As a consultant to magazines and newspapers, she has developed and implemented concepts and copy for presentations, media kits, promotion pieces and special advertising sections. As a writer and editor for publications and corporations, she has created corporate identity programs and brochures, sales/sales training materials, newsletters, benefits communications and advertorials on topics ranging from health, fitness & nutrition to home renovation, travel & tourism, to automotive & technology. Massey has participated as a panelist and speaker at a number of media marketing conferences, and served as a judge for the Effie Awards and The New York Festivals AME International Awards for marketing effectiveness in multinational campaigns. She was a guest lecturer on CompuServe's PR&MKTG Forum and conducted a week-long seminar on marketing to the baby boomer audience. In 1997, Massey was the publisher of Boomerang, a newsletter for, by and about baby boomers. She was an editorial reviewer for the health and fitness sections of Living Well: A Guide to Healthy Aging video series for PBS. In response to the 9/11 tragedy, Massey co-founded New Yorkers Share, a peer support program for HELP-USA, that served more than 250 New Yorkers. She conceived the program, which was launched within 36 hours, and marketed the new drop-in center to local media outlets (including 1010 WINS and NY1), to attract clients. She serves as a marketing consultant to the board of the Parent-Child Home Program, is on the advisory board of AmericanWellBeing, and is an advisor to Groundbreak Publishing, Inc. Massey resides in New York City, and earned a BA in English from SUNY Buffalo. |
